Sweet Summetime!

Well, we have made it to Friday of our first week of summer vacation.  Sawyer and I have had a blast!  We have played in our pool on the deck, gone for walks at the duck pond, gone swimming with her cousins, and taken several naps :) I wish I had pictures, but when you are the only adult and are around water it can be a little difficult.  Hopefully, I will be able to get some this weekend, when Daddy is home.  We have had a blast!  More stories to come!

I am slacking....

but, not because I have nothing to do, but because Sawyer is so stinking busy!  She is into everything.  I have to make sure she is in one of her toys that confines her, such as her walker or exersaucer in order to get anything accomplished.  She loves to chase Bella around in her walker, but she also loves to crawl all over the house, and I of course have to be right behind her.  She is a mess :) She hasn't officially started to walk yet, but she has a little toy that allows you to sit and ride or stand and push.  She has been able to stand and push herself across the den, but then realizes she has done something big, and plops down.  Too cute!

We have a TOOTH! and....a fever virus!

Yuck!  Well, last Wednesday morning Sawyer had a low grade fever.  It can be normal for babies to have a slight fever such as 99.  So..I took her on to school.  However, when we got there she felt warmer to me so I had them to check her.  Of course, it was over 101, which is the "send home" temp.  I had already given her Motrin, but no luck.  I called my dad, and told him Sawyer needed to spend the day with him.  She did pretty well all day, but the temp never went away. It actually begin to rise. He also found a tooth poking through on her bottom gum.  We thought this might be the reason for the temp, but then it began to creep up even higher....

We already had a checkup scheduled at the ENT for Friday, but Spencer called and had it changed to Thursday, because we thought maybe she was having issues with her ears.  So he took off Thursday and took her to the ENT.  Everything checked out fine there, but she still had a fever.  So, on Friday he called the pediatrician and got her in.  They checked her for a UTI, but nothing.  They decided it was just a fever virus.  Well, needless to say this fever virus has been going on for days.  She is great when the fever is down, but then it will go up and she is so grumpy and whiney.  I feel so sorry for her.  Hopefully, it will be gone soon!

10 Months!

Sawyer is now 10 months old!  Crazy!  I am not sure where the time has gone.  She has grown and changed so much!  Spencer and I are loving every minute of it.  When she wakes up every morning, it is as if she has grown a foot over night, and gotten another curl on her head.

At 10 months, Sawyer:

  • wears 12 month clothes, some are 18 months, but with room to grow
  • wears a size 4 diaper, we can squeeze her into a three, but 4's are definitely more comfortable
  • wears a size 3 shoe
  • can say Maaaaammaaaaa and daaaadaaaadaaa
  • wave goodbye, sometimes it is backwards, but it is still cute
  • drop something, or rather throw something on the floor and say uh oh!  This is so cute, but only the first couple of times!
  • is now eating table food, even though she doesn't have any teeth!  She just gums it, and of course we cut it up very small. She has eaten black beans, refried beans, rice, turkey sandwich (no condiments), LOVES spaghetti, mac and cheese, green beans, green peas, granola bars (organic), yogurt, cheese, so far so good!  We tried oatmeal, but she didn't care for it too much.
  • Takes 4, 6oz bottles a day, well one is 8oz at night.
  • Sleeps all night (goes to bed around 6 30 and I have to wake her around 6 20 in order to get her ready to leave)
  • Crawls all over the place
  • loves water out of her sippy cup and out of a straw at a restaurant.
  • Can clap her hands at the right time when you sing, "If you're happy and you know it!"
  • Can give big wet kisses when you pick her up from school

She is so much fun!  We love to see what each day has to bring!  We love you Sawyer Rhea!

Sawyer loves spaghetti!

So we decided to venture out and let Sawyer try table food.  Even though she doesn't have any teeth yet, she has been very interested in our food.  So one night we decided to make spaghetti for dinner and let her eat it.  The rest has been history.  She is over baby food and loves to eat what Mommy and Daddy eat.

I have an adorable video of her eating, but I cannot figure out how to get it off my camera.

Mother's Day!

I had a fantastic first Mother's Day!  The sad thing is, I didn't take a picture of any of it.  I spent the entire day with my sweet Sawyer and wonderful husband.  We did go and meet my parents for lunch and then topped off the afternoon with homemade ice cream at their house with my grandparents.  I hate that this post is short, but like I said I do not have any pictures to post.
